BLCCs of Belonging
Overview
BLCCs (Blocks) of Belonging is a storytelling initiative designed to document, visualize, and activate the cultural identity of the Blue Line Corridor in Prince George’s County.
The BLCC invites 5 artists to create spaces for community members to respond to a narrative prompt through art while also supporting temporary and permanent placemaking activations across the corridor.
This initiative will culminate in a Night Market event on Saturday, October 24th where each artist will display a representation of the activation they produced (tangible art, mini exhibit, etc.).

Transportation corridors often divide communities as much as they connect them. What would it mean for the built environment along the Blue Line to serve as social and economic infrastructure—a place that revolves around people, connection, and communal thriving?
Call for Artists
Calling All Creatives in Prince George's County!
Grant awards are available for Prince George's County-based artists to engage community members, create original pieces, and respond to a curatorial prompt this fall in the Blue Line Corridor. All creative styles and mediums are welcome!

Night Market
The Night Market will culminate the BLCCs of Belonging Initiative with local vendors and live entertainment, a presentation of BLCC findings over the last year, and a curated art gallery featuring five community-led art pieces created through engagement with select artists and community members. This event is meant to celebrate small businesses, creativity, and community collaboration along the Blue Line Corridor.
